Bringing over a decade of industry experience, a relentless drive for client success, and a healthy dose of high-energy enthusiasm, Karley is on the ground to spearhead FeeSynergy’s Support and Growth across New Zealand.
We sat down with Karley to chat about her journey to FeeSynergy, her passion for streamlining firm operations, and what life looks like when she isn’t logged into FeeSynergy Collect.
Speaking the Language of Accounting and Legal Firms
While Karley may be new to FeeSynergy, she is certainly no stranger to our client industry. She has spent the last 12 to 13 years working directly with accountants and lawyers and this deep background means she doesn’t just understand the industry, she speaks the language fluently.
“I already know professional systems and operations, their pain points, and the unique challenges they face on a daily basis,” Karley explains. “I’m not just a newbie hoping for the best. I can step into a firm, identify what they need, and help them to achieve it.”
Before joining us, Karley knew of FeeSynergy from arm’s length and upon joining she realised just how advanced the technology truly was.
“Once I saw the platform up close, I realised how far ahead of the game FeeSynergy is compared to anything else on the market. It was an opportunity and a journey that I wanted to be part of. The technology integration is next-level.”
As FeeSynergy’s first senior manager on the ground in New Zealand, Karley is eager to break down the misconception that FeeSynergy is an Australian centric company. FeeSynergy has in fact been operating in New Zealand for 18 years and has built a strong client base of leading accounting firms. Karley’s appointment brings a genuinely country-centric presence, providing local firms with a dedicated partner operating right in their own time zone.
The Thrill of the “Lightbulb Moment”
If you ask Karley what motivates her to log in at 7:30 AM every day, her answer is simple: helping people.
Before entering the corporate world, Karley spent 15 years coaching horse riding full-time. Surprisingly, she sees a direct parallel between coaching riders and implementing automated tech solutions for busy practices.
“When you’re coaching, you live for that moment when the lightbulb goes on or the penny drops for a student,” Karley says. “It’s the exact same buzz in this role. When an accountant realises they don’t have to chase debtors or handle data manually, that this technology can completely transform their workflow, it’s incredibly rewarding.”
Driving Efficiency Through Health Checks
Lately, Karley has been jumping into client Health Checks alongside the internal team, gaining firsthand insight into how automated systems lift the administrative burden from local firms.
For Karley, the core FeeSynergy Collect platform is a game-changer for cash flow and daily task management.
“A lot of firms are still doing things the hard way, manually extracting data, downloading files, and sending emails through separate applications”, she notes. “When we run a Health Check, we show them how to do all of that with just two clicks directly inside the system. It’s about identifying those hidden bottlenecks, turning weaknesses into strengths, and ultimately giving firms their valuable time back.”
Adrenaline, Animals, and Life on the Farm
Outside of her commitment to client support, Karley leads a vibrant, fast-paced life that is anything but sedentary. She runs a farm in New Zealand, complete with contracted dairy grazers and a diverse menagerie of animals, including dogs and a collection of horses.
As an outdoor enthusiast and self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, staying still is a skill Karley has had to master for her office hours.
“I don’t really say no to anything; I always say yes and figure out the logistics later!” she laughs. From Horse Riding, mountain biking and socialising with friends to skydiving and eyeing up Queenstown’s famous canyon swings, Karley thrives on a challenge.
“When the rain is pouring outside, it’s lovely to have an inside office job,” she admits. “But the balance between the outdoor farm life and the tech space is perfect for me.”
